Kids Sewing Intro To Sewing
In this class, we will jump right into sewing your first project, a pillowcase, while learning basic skills such as setting up your threads and changing a machine needle.
YOU WILL GAIN THESE SKILLS:
how to sew a straight line, back-stitching, finish a seam, pivot (sew around a corner), and how to properly use sewing tools like pins, fabric markers, sewing shears, and machine needles,
Wind a bobbin, change stitch settings, cut the fabric using a simple pattern, and troubleshoot common issues with machines, like thread jams and fabric puckers.
BRING WITH YOU TO CLASS:
your sewing machine or rent one of ours for $10 and we’ll supply the materials and fabrics.

Here is the supply list:
3/4 yard of medium-weight fabric (aka quilting cotton) for the main section
1/4 yard of medium-weight fabric (aka quilting cotton) for the decorative cuff
all-purpose thread to sew the pillowcase
OR, one week before class starts, let us shop for you for $10, order a class kit that includes the materials from the list by emailing your instructor. You will get an email once the order is placed from the teacher assigned to you, and then you may let them know you’d like to buy one from them.
2- hour class, ages 9-15 and up, designed for beginning sewers, or no experience
An additional $10 is added if you order the class and a machine rental.
