Holiday Drop-Off

Get your holiday errands done

while we bring on the festive hand-sewing fun for your little ones!

We’ll be creating keepsakes, making memories, and stitching up holiday cheer! Need a little extra time to check off that holiday to-do list? The Holiday Drop-Off has you covered! Drop off your kiddos with us for an afternoon of cozy, creative fun.
While you shop, relax, or wrap up holiday prep, your young makers will be busy hand-sewing two festive felt ornaments to take home.

Here’s what we’ll be stitching up: INITIAL ORNAMENT Kids will hand-sew their own initial ornament, choosing from bright or pastel felt and fun embellishments to make it uniquely theirs. It’s a perfect personal touch for the family tree or as a heartfelt gift. COTTAGE/HOUSE ORNAMENT Next, they’ll create a cozy little felt cottage ornament, full of holiday charm! With colorful felt and optional sparkly touches, each house will be as festive and unique as their imagination.

Each project kit can be customized with bright or pastel materials, and we’ll have extra notions available to add a bit more sparkle. Plus, we’ll provide gift wrap, so these handmade treasures are ready to share! Kids can enjoy light snacks (bring a water bottle), holiday movie classics in the background, and lots of festive hand-sewing fun. When you pick them up, they’ll be all stitched out and gift-ready!

Date: Sunday, November 24 Time: 1-4 PM Ages: 6-9
What’s Included: Two hand-sewn felt ornament projects, gift wrap, light snacks, and holiday movies Sold Separately: Customizable materials kit $15/student

Free Seminar: Learn To Use A Master Pattern/Sloper

Slopers are a useful guide for ensuring a commercial pattern will fit.

A sloper is one of the most helpful tools you can own to help you fit existing patterns or create your own design.
If you have taken a Master Pattern Class to create a Sloper, Block, or Toile and are still unsure how to use it, this seminar is for you.
Or, if you are interested in taking our Master Sloper Class but not sure how you will use it….this is for you.
In this free 90-minute seminar, you’ll learn the following:
What Is A Sloper And How To Use With Commercial Patterns
How to use your Master Sloper pattern to evaluate other commercial patterns.  This will cut down on the time needed to make multiple muslins.
How to use your Master Sloper pattern to create original garments.  This is to cut down on the expense of purchasing patterns just to get one detail you like.
Two lucky participants with master slopers (already done) will be selected to have a commercial pattern evaluated.
More information on this once you register for the seminar.

Sewing Book Club: The Improv Handbook For Modern Quilters

The idea behind improv quilts is the freedom to create and lose your inhibitions as to "what is the right way" to do something. You can choose to not use 1 ruler or straight edge the entire process. Or you can take baby steps and incorporate some of these freestyle ideas into your traditional quilts. The choice is yours! The Improv Handbook allows you to dive into an alternative way to think about quilts. No experience is needed and I would love to share some of my ideas and techniques with you. Come join us for the book club at the end of September.  Here is a link to the artist and author: Sherri Lynn Wood | Improv Quilting & Quilt Classes

Here is the book to purchase and bring: The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters: A Guide to Creating, Quilting, and Living Courageously: Wood, Sherri Lynn: 9781617691386: Amazon.com: Books
