There are dozens of wonderful books filled with sewing projects, sewing reference materials, sewing hacks, mending tutorials and so much more. We Sewing Hive teachers own a plethora of books and but that doesn’t stop us from looking for more.
The goal of our book group is to have one of our teachers work with a selected book to evaluate the text and patterns so that we can let you know how true to size the patterns are, any issues or errors in the text or patterns, and the highlights and lowlights found in the book. We will lead a discussion of the book and patterns contained in it, show off our creations using the patterns, answer questions you may have about the book, and lead a discussion of the group’s feedback.
Who should attend?
People who are merely curious about the book
People considering purchasing the book we’re reviewing
People who already own the book but hesitate to get started
People who have sewn items from the book and who wish to share their successes and/or failures with the book
People who just love to talk about sewing!
You are welcome to sew items before the book group meeting and bring/wear your makes to the session! The group leader will certainly wear some makes from patterns in the book.
