Learn to create and sew cosplay garments and accessories.
Julie Burnsides Diaz is a professional costume and special occasion dressmaker. In this class, she provides in-person instruction and problem-solving as she guides you through the cosplay costume of your dreams or one you want to copy.
She’s able to teach you techniques such as
Pattern drafting and hacking
Specialty fabric construction (spandex, leather/vinyl, sheers, etc)
Corsetry and structured pieces
Thermoplastics (Worbla/Wonderflex)
Distressing and weathering techniques
Embellishment techniques (Machine and hand embroidery, fabric painting, foiling, applique, reverse applique, beadwork, etc.)
Leather tooling and wet-molding
Cricut cutting machines for cosplay
Boot/shoe covers
Glove making
Belt pouchesFor adults who can sew, independently set up threads and bobbins on a sewing machine.
$40 for the first hour and $30 per additional hour per student.
