Sew a Bucket Hat for yourself, family, and friends!
We will use the Nantucket Bucket Hat pattern from Greenstyle Creations to sew a quick and easy bucket hat in just a few hours.
This pattern comes in all sizes, from toddlers to extra-large adults! It’s a great hat for summer with options for a narrower or wider brim depending on how much sun protection you are looking for this Summer. The Nantucket Bucket Hat is a great staple to keep the sun and the critters off your head when hiking in the city or the forest. It’s fully lined, with the ability to be reversible. This one-session class will allow you to complete the project by the end of class.
Students must complete the following before class:
• Purchase and print PDF pattern
• Pre-wash fabric Nantucket Bucket Hat pattern from Greenstyle Creations
• Measure the wearer’s head to select the correct size
This project is good for beginners with a little experience under their “hats.”

Students must have basic sewing knowledge and be comfortable using a sewing machine. Students should have sewn a few small projects before enrolling in this class.


Cost: $50 per student for a scheduled or semi-private class and
$100 for a private, one-on-one class with just you and the instructor.
Ages 16+ and adults.

An additional $10 is added if you order the class and a machine rental.

Materials + Tools Required
• Nantucket Bucket Hat pattern by Greenstyle Creations (greenstylecreations.com)
• ½ yard main fabric: Denim, canvas, other heavyweight, structured, woven fabrics.
• ½ yard lining fabric: you can use denim or canvas as well as lighter fabric like quilting cotton or linen
• ½ yard light or medium weight interfacing (optional but suitable for the wider brim option)
• All-purpose polyester sewing thread
• Fabric scissors
• Pins or Wonder clips (this project is easier to sew if you use Wonder clips or similar)
• Your sewing machine or rent one for $10.
• A universal sewing machine needle in size 90/14
